What is "ACS?"

The American Constitution Society is a national organization of law students, law professors, practicing lawyers, and others. We seek to revitalize and transform the legal debate, from our classrooms to our courtrooms. We seek to counter the dominant vision of American law today, a narrow conservative vision that lacks appropriate regard for the ways in which the law affects people's lives. We seek to restore the fundamental principles of human dignity, individual rights and liberties, genuine equality, and access to justice to their rightful—and traditionally central—place in American law.

National ACS Goals

Maine Law ACS Public Advisory Board

What is the Public Advisory Board?

The Public Advisory Board serves as a  bridge between the Maine Law ACS and the legal community.  Membership on the Board includes from lawyers, judges, Maine Law alumni, professors, and activists.   Initially, they will help fulfill the crucial role of maintaining the institutional memory of Maine Law ACS, especially as each class of law students graduate.  In addition, the Public Advisory Board will help spread the programming news throughout the Maine legal community, and aid with programming subjects.  Finally, they will work as an informal advisory board for programming and events.

Members will be announced soon!
